Area
Rectangle: area = length × width · Circle: area = π × radius²
Handy conversions: 1 m² = 10.764 ft². For odd-shaped rooms, split the space into rectangles and triangles, measure each, and add them up. Add a waste margin (5–10%) when buying flooring, turf or tile.
Measuring square footage
For rectangular rooms, multiply length by width; for round areas, the calculator uses π × radius². Enter dimensions in feet or meters — results appear in square feet with metric and yardage conversions. Add a price per square foot to estimate flooring or material cost.
For L-shaped spaces, split into rectangles and add the areas.
